Learning to make brooms?  Now you can make them in the comfort of your own home!  With the special cut foot brake, you can control tention on your thread to make beautiful, strong brooms of all kinds.  The foot brake is approximately 17" long, with both ends having soft squarred ends for control.  The center is carved out so your thread is not dragging on your work surface, picking up dirt and dust.  We've drilled 2 holes through the foot brake, so you can wind on 2 colors of thread at one time.  
 
The foot brake is sanded, but unfinished.  
We use these for traveling classes, in my living room during  the winter and even outside.  I just throw a small rug down on the grass or ground (so the wood doesn't get grass stains) and make brooms where ever the heart desires.
